We are on the boundary of the temperate rain forest and the desert which ensures that we have some fabulous weather in the summer.

The Hood River Valley is famous for it's fertile soil and there are many orchards and vineyards around Hood River.
In the fall you'll be able to stock up on plenty of cherries, peaches, apples and pears from the many roadside farm stands.
The Mt. Hood Scenic Railroad offers trips through the beautiful orchards in the area.
The circa 1910 railcars are pulled by a diesel locomotive along the route of an old fruit train line through the scenic valley between
Mt. Hood and the Columbia River.
In the spring and throughout the summer you can enjoy wonderful wild flowers as you explore the alpine meadows

There is excellent white water rafting and kayaking in our area with great beginner rivers and also challenging class V rivers for the experts.
Mountain biking, hiking and fy fishing are popular activities for our visitors.
In the winter you have easy access to mountain sports including snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, back country skiing, cross country
skiing and snow mobiling. There is a glacier for summer skiing and snowboarding.
